William (1802 - 1874) was a baker.
He married Anastasia Maley (1805 - 1848), about whom we can find very little. They had at least 6 children: Elizabeth Matilda (1830 - ), Catherine (1832 - ), John (1834 - ), Margaret (1837 - ), William (1840 -1901) m Mary Thompson (1844 - 1918) in 1864 in Alnwick and Robert (1845 - 1846).
Anastasia died 3.7.1848 in 31 Canonagte St. The informant was Elizabeth Howliston (her daughter), living in Howick St.
On 7.1.1849 he married Margaret Bruce (her mark) in St Andrews, Newcastle. They were both living in Percy Street at the time. The witnesses were Sarah Robinson and Henry Bruce.
Mary Thomas reported her death on 13.11.1853.
In 1851 he was living in Canongate St, Alnwick, with his second wife Margaret Brewis (BRUCE?) and his mother-in-law, Isabella Brewis. Also living there is George Brewis, aged 5, classified as his son. Isabella Brewis, aged 64, born in Eglingham is classified as married and was probably a visitor. By this time Elizabeth Matilda, Catherine and John, children of Anastasia, appear to have left home.

By 1861 he had moved to Parkes St, Alnwick with his third wife, Jane. There is some doubt about where his son William,21, who was a slater and plasterer, was living. It could have been Parkes St but was more likely to be as a lodger with John Tennent, general labourer, Pottergate Place.
In 1861 his niece Mary Ann Newton, 14, born in Alnwick, was staying with the family.
1861 England census - [Pai??es St] Alnwick, Northumberland:

Sarah Robinson was a witness to his marriages to Margaret Bruce and Jane Wilson. Was she a paid witness? Unlikely as the marriages took place in Newcastle and Alnwick.
In 1871, aged 66, he was living at Percy St, St Peter's Quay, Byker, with his son Robert Henry, a Joiner.
