      Hello all
      Im interested to know more about the service record of this pilot that served with 12 Sqdn and scored 4 or 5 kills(not sure, but he is not listed as an ace).
      Namely his birth date, postings, victories and post-war life.

      Evidence for five claims exists, but only four of these are reported in the RFC Communiques.

      As for his military career in the Great War:

      Temp. Lt. Philip James Vaughan Lavarack, Gen. List and R.F.C.

      For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. While on a photographic patrol he shot down and destroyed a hostile machine. He has done consistently good work in artillery observation and photography throughout the operations.

      London Gazette 7 March 1918 - Citation for award of Bar to Military Cross:
      T. /Capt. Philip James Vaughan Lavarack, M.C., Gen. List and R.F.C.

      For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When attacked on artillery patrol by eight enemy aircraft he succeeded in driving down one machine, the rest being driven off east. Later, he drove off three scouts badly hit, which could not be followed, owing to the clouds. In the last month he has fought and driven off enemy aircraft on seven occasions, and afterwards completed his work.
      (M.C. gazetted 26th May, 1917.)
