PASTOR RICK MICHALINOS, age 53, went to be with his Lord on July 24, 2004. He was born in Houston, Tx on November 14, 1950. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Ann Stephenson in 1974. Bro. Rick founded the Glenwood Baptist Church in Deer Park, Tx, where he pastored the most loving congregation for 7 1/2 years. As a Minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, his greatest joy was sharing the Good News of Salvation and ministering to his precious church family that he loved so dearly. Previously, he had served as Minister of Music and as Associate to the Pastor, his father, Bro. Nick Michalinos, at the Austin Avenue Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Nick Michalinos and his father-in-law, Kenneth Stephenson, both of Pasadena, Tx. Bro. Rick is survived by his wife Judy of 30 years and his two beloved children, Crystal Nicole Michalinos and Rick Michalinos II. He is also survived by his Mother, Jeanette Michalinos; and his sister, Evette Hall and her husband David; his Mother-in-law, Dorothy Stephenson; his brothers and sisters-in-law who loved him like a brother, Wayne and Donna Thomas, Dane and Connie Houliston and Kenny and Emily Stephenson. He will be missed greatly by his treasured nieces and nephews; Heather Hurst, Kendra Houliston, Jeanette Hall, Joel Thomas, Justin Houliston, John and Joshua Stephenson, and Nicholas Hurst. Visitation for friends and family will be held Monday, July 26th, 2004, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, Tx. A Memorial and Celebration service will be officiated by Pastor Lester Hutson and Pastor Leland Lanier on Tuesday, July 27th, 2004 at the Glenwood Baptist Church, 4526 Glenwood Street, off Spencer and Red Bluff in Deer Park, Tx. There will be a visitation before the service from 9:15 AM to 9:55 AM and the service will be at 10:00 AM. Bro. Rick's family wanted to extend their deep appreciation for the tender loving care he received the past 4 months during his fight with Leukemia at the Methodist Hospital 8NW and at the M.D. Anderson, 12th floor. Thank you, Bro. Rick for the wonderful testimony you were, for the Pastor's heart you had, for the stands you took for "The Truth", and for encouraging us to keep on marching and living for our Savior.
